Mumbai Indians pulled off another exciting victory over Kolkata Knight Riders, this time in the Eliminator Match at the Wankhede Stadium which has set up a virtual Semi-Final against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Bowling first after winning the toss, Mumbai Indians had KKR in an early soup at 20 for 4 by the 6th over and just when they seemed to be on the course of keeping the total to an extreme low. However there came a terrific knock from the underrated Ryan ten Doeschate with the Dutchman proving his worth with a beautiful 70* from 49 balls with 6 fours and 3 sixes. Useful cameos came in from Yusuf Pathan who made 26 from 24 balls and Shakib Al Hasan who made 26 from 16 balls to lift KKR to a competitive 147 for 7. Munaf Patel did significant damage with the ball taking 3 for 27 for the hosts. The run chase for Mumbai Indians was made very easy by Aiden Blizzard who made a cracking 51 from 30 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes which powered them to 81 for 1 in just 7.5 overs. The hosts were looking good to wrap up things quickly but in no time lost three quick wickets to get reduced to 103 for 4 to open up the match. KKR picked up two more wickets but the asking rate for Mumbai Indians was always under control. James Franklin with an unbeaten 29 from 25 balls steered Mumbai Indians to a 4-wicket win with four balls to spare. Munaf Patel for his three key wickets got the Man of the Match.
