England have gone 2-0 up in the 4-match Series against Pakistan with a nine-wicket win in the Birmigham Test. The match was as good as over in the first day afternoon when Pakistan winning the toss and electing to bat first collapsed to 72 all out in 39.3 overs! James Anderson and Stuart Broad wrecked the innings taking four wickets each. The bowling wasn't as bad as the batting for the Pakistanis as they wrapped up England for 251 to keep the lead down to 179. Kevin Pietersen (80) and Jonathan Trott (55) were the only performers for the hosts with the bat while off spinner Saeed Ajmal troubled them with a five-wicket haul.

The visitors fought pretty hard in the 2nd innings through the pair of debutant wicket keeper Zulqarnain Haider (88 from 200 balls) and Saeed Ajmal (50). The innings lasted as many as 117.5 overs and England had to look upto off spinner Graeme Swann to the damage which he did taking 6 for 65 in 37 overs including 20 maidens. Swann picked up the Man of the Match for his bowling efforts. Needing a target of 118 for a win, England got the runs in 36.3 overs at the cost of a wicket. Skipper Andrew Strauss (53*) and Jonathan Trott (53*) scored unbeaten half centuries.
