Under the circumstances one is bound to wonder what happens in case the semi-finals and finals get washed out. Well, we have the answer for you.

The match, as it is happening, will first go into the reserve day. The game will begin from where it ended the previous day. For a match to be completed, India need to bat at least 20 overs. If the match cannot be completed even after the reserve day, India will progress to the final by virtue of having topped the league stage.

It may be recalled that the India-New Zealand group stage match was also called off due to rain. There were no reserve days for the league stages due to logistic reasons.

The other semi-final between England and Australia could also be affected due to rain, and reserve day for the same is on Friday, July 12. If this match cannot be completed, then Australia will progress to the final having finished ahead of England in the group stage.

Further, if the final is unable to be completed despite the reserve day on July 15, India and Australia will be declared joint winners of the World Cup.

As for the match tickets, the tickets for match day will be valid on the original as well as reserve day. Full ticket refund will be given if number overs played are 15 or less and 50 per cent refund will be offered if overs 15.1 to 29.5 take place.

New Zealand are currently 211 for 5 in 46.1 overs with Ross Taylor (67) and Tom Latham (3) at the crease.
