Kochi Tuskers Kerala picked up their fourth win in 9 matches when they defeated hosts Delhi Daredevils by 7 wickets with as many as 30 balls to spare at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi. Asked to bat first after losing the toss, Delhi Daredevils slipped to 43 for 3 in the 7th over after which it was a struggle to play any carefree cricket. Daredevils as a result were restricted to 140 for 6 with the top scorer being Y Venugopal Rao who made 40 from 36 balls. Left arm medium pacer Prasanth Parameswaran and Vinay Kumar took two wickets each for Kochi.
It was an easy run chase for the visitors with Brendon McCullum smashing 37 from 19 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes to power Kochi to 61 for 1 in 5.1 overs before he got dismissed. Kochi lost three wickets overall and took just 15 overs to get to the target. There was some pressure when Kochi were at 89 for 3 in 10 overs but Parthiv Patel with an unbeaten 37 from 31 balls and Brad Hodge with 24 not out from 13 balls finished the match without any fuss. Interestingly the Man of the Match award went to Prasanth Parameswaran as he took the key wickets of Sehwag and Venugopal Rao during the Delhi innings.
