The minnows clash between Ireland and Netherlands at Kolkata saw two superb centuries in what was a high scoring contest. The first one came from Ryan ten Doeschate (106 from 108 balls with 13 fours and a six) which helped the Dutch to put up a huge total of 306. Skipper Peter Borren played his part too with an 84 from 82 balls with 10 fours.
However the efforts of ten Doeschate and Borren went in vain as Ireland's opener Paul Stirling smashed the second hundred of the match, scoring 101 in just 72 balls with 14 fours and 2 sixes to set up a comfortable win by 6 wickets with 14 balls to spare! Skipper William Porterfield contributed a steady 68 from 93 balls with 10 fours in an opening stand of 177 in 27 overs with Man of the Match - Paul Stirling.
