Sydney: Young pacemen James Pattinson and Trent Copeland were included on Thursday in the Australian Prime Minister's XI side to play England in a one-day game.

The pair will join veteran fast bowler Brett Lee and new Australia Test batsman Usman Khawaja in place of injured bowlers Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood for Monday's game at Canberra's Manuka Oval.

Starc is undergoing treatment for a side strain while Hazlewood is recovering from stress fractures in his back.

Australia team physiotherapist Alex Kountouris said neither player is fit enough for the game which will provide a chance for World Cup hopefuls to press their selection claims. He said Hazlewood is now likely to be out for the rest of the season.

Australia Prime Minister's XI: Tim Paine (captain), Callum Ferguson, Dan Christian, Xavier Doherty, Trent Copeland, Alex Keath, Usman Khawaja, Brett Lee, Tom Thornton, Nic Maddinson, James Pattinson, Josh Anderson.
