The Second Test Match at Hyderabad finished in an expected draw to leave the 3-Test Series still at 0-0. India batted out for an hour after Tea in their second innings in which Virender Sehwag found enough time to smash his 25th Test fifty. Sehwag scored 54* from 54 balls with 6 fours and a six while Gautam Gambhir played cautiously for an unbeaten 14 from 48 balls. India finished the match at 68 for 0 in 17 overs. Brendon McCullum got the Man of the Match award.

Tea on Day 5

New Zealand played some attacking cricket to smash their way to 448 for 8 by Tea on the final day before declaring their innings and giving India an unrealistic target of 327 in 30 overs. The match is obviously going to be a draw and the Kiwi batsmen are having fun in going after the Indian bowling. Brendon McCullum was a lot more adventurous in this session as he got to his maiden double century with a scoop shot over the keeper's head! The opening batsman eventually fell miscuing a slog off a slower leg break from Sreesanth but not before piling up a career best of 225 from just 308 balls (with 22 fours and 4 sixes).

The Kiwis also lost three more wickets in the afternoon session that of Williamson, Vettori and Southee. Williamson (69 from 146 balls with 9 fours) was unlucky as he got a wrong lbw decision from Simon Taufel to an off break from Harbhajan Singh which was bowled from round the sticks and turning down leg. Vettori was caught brilliantly by the diving Dravid at extra covers off Suresh Raina's bowling. Southee on the other hand saw his stumps shattered after trying a desperate slog.

Lunch on Day 5

The Second Test Match at Hyderabad is heading towards a stalemate as India failed to take any wickets at all in the morning session of the final day. The overnight batsmen - Brendon McCullum and Kane Williamson have comfortably seen through the 30 overs of play collecting 102 runs and thus stretching their team to a safe lead of 217 runs. There is absolutely no time in this match for a result to come and only the formalities left which is of playing out another three hours before the mandatory overs.

McCullum is getting closer towards a maiden double century, he is on 171 from 260 balls (with 15 fours and 3 sixes) by Lunch. Kane Williamson has looked solid for his 66 from 131 balls with the help of 131 balls.
