Chennai Super Kings CEO Gurunath Meiyappan has been picked up by the Mumbai Police in connection with the IPL Spot-Fixing Scandal. Gurunath, who is also the son-in-law of the BCCI President N Srinivasan has been named by the arrested Bollywood actor Vindhoo Dara Singh as part of a fixing nexus. Gurunath has been escorted by the Police for questioning regarding the fixing scandal.

Interestingly, India Cements which owns the Chennai Super Kings had released a bizarre statement today saying that Gurunath is neither the owner, nor CEO or team principal of the CSK. According to the India Cements, Gurunath is only one of the Honorary Members of the Management Team of Chennai Super Kings.

It can be noted that Gurunath is a regular face shown near the CSK camp during the IPL Matches. Gurunath was also seen doing the Auctioneering for the CSK. With Gurunath strongly caught up in the fixing mess, pressure is mounting on N Srinivasan to quit as the BCCI President.
