In another shocker relating to the Indian Premier League, Rajasthan Royal’s co-owner Raj Kundra has confessed to betting in an interrogation held by the Delhi Police. Neeraj Kumar, the Delhi Police Commissioner made an official statement today that Kundra had placed bets on his own team through a bookie Umesh Goenka.

Medium pacer Siddharth Trivedi, who had turned down an offer from a bookie during IPL 6, had named Umesh Goenka as the person who had approached him to seek sensitive team and match information. Goenka happens to be Raj Kundra’s business partner and that was how the Cops had come to understand the Rajasthan Royals’ owner’s link in the scandal.

Raj Kundra is a British Indian businessman who is married to Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty. The couple who co-own the Rajasthan Royals have been regular watchers close to the dug outs in the IPL. Kundra according to the Delhi Police had placed bets on his own team and had lost money. The Delhi Police had yesterday questioned Kundra for more than 10 hours and seized his passport after finding discrepancies in his answers. Raj Kundra is now likely to be arrested in the fixing scandal just like the Chennai Super Kings’ owner Gurunath Meiyappan. If rules are to be implemented strictly, then both the Chennai Super Kings and the Rajasthan Royals face termination from the IPL.
