Nagenahira Nagas eased to a 7-wicket win over Kandurata Warriors today at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Chasing 160 from 20 overs, the Nagas were always under control of the situation following an excellent opening stand of 85 in 8.4 overs from the Pakistani duo of Imran Nazir and Ahmed Shehzad.

Nagenahira Nagas eased to a 7-wicket win over Kandurata Warriors today at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Chasing 160 from 20 overs, the Nagas were always under control of the situation following an excellent opening stand of 85 in 8.4 overs from the Pakistani duo of Imran Nazir and Ahmed Shehzad.

Imran Nazir top scored in the run chase with 58 from 32 balls (with 4 fours and 5 sixes) while Ahmed Shehzad came up with 34 (from 30 balls with 4 fours). Skipper Angelo Mathews completed the run chase with his unbeaten 42 (from 36 balls with 4 fours and a six). The Nagas won the match comfortably with three balls to spare.

Early on, Kandurata Warriors batting first after winning the toss, were restricted to 159 for 7. Things weren’t going well for the Warriors as they found themselves struggling at 61 for 4 in the 11th over. However, Thisara Perera produced a blistering knock of 72 from just 33 balls (with 6 fours and 4 sixes) to help them to a competitive total.
