India Skipper MS Dhoni has been banned by the ICC for one Test following his team’s slow over-rate in the 3rd Test at Perth which the tourists lost inside three days. Dhoni will therefore sit out from the fourth and final Test at Adelaide which begins on the 24th. Virender Sehwag, who is the Vice-Captain on the tour will lead the side for the Adelaide Test in Dhoni’s absence.
Reserve Wicket Keeper Wriddhiman Saha will make it to the Adelaide Test to take over MS Dhoni’s role behind the stumps. India was two overs short in the Australia first innings at the WACA as it went with a four-man pace attack. Dhoni apart from the one test ban was also fined 40% of his match fees. The rest of the India team members were docked 20% of their match fees.
