Pakistan announced three squads for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka. Misbah-ul-Haq has been retained as the Captain of the ODI and the Test teams but for the mini-version of the game that is the T20I format, his name doesn’t even figure in the squad. Spinning all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez will be Pakistan’s new Twenty20 Captain. The Sri Lanka Tour for Pakistan begins on June 1st and ends on July 12th with a total of 2 T20Is, 5 ODIs and 3 Tests to be played.
The notable inclusions from the Selectors are that of speedster Mohammad Sami and Faisal Iqbal who have been picked in the Test Squad after a gap of around two years. Sami though full of potential as a skiddy fast bowler has failed to make any big impact. Faisal Iqbal is an attractive middle order batsman had already played 26 Tests for Pakistan while coming up with a modest average of 26.76.
