A hamstring injury has ruled out Karnataka pace bowler R Vinay Kumar from playing the upcoming India’s Tour of Sri Lanka. The Selectors have named all-rounder Irfan Pathan as the replacement of Vinay Kumar.
It is learnt that Vinay Kumar had suffered a Grade I right hamstring injury yesterday during net practice. The 28-year-old Vinay Kumar is expected to be out of action for three weeks. Vinay has so far played in 22 ODIs taking 28 wickets showing glimpses of brilliance whenever the pitch had something to offer to his style of seam bowling.
Irfan Pathan, who will replace Vinay Kumar is going to get another opportunity to cement his place in the Indian team. The 27-year-old Irfan Pathan was part of the Asia Cup team but lost his place along with Ravindra Jadeja.
