News and Scores Update of South Zone Vs Central Zone, Day 2, Semi-Final of Duleep Trophy 2011/12 at Chennai (Feb 5)

Central Zone are in the driver’s seat after a dismal batting show from hosts South Zone at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk, Chennai. Central Zone after getting wrapped up for 293 with Mohammad Kaif scoring 109 went onto bowl out South Zone for just 183. And by the close of play on Day 2, got to 121 for 1 in just 32 overs thanks to a superb unbeaten knock of 79 from 81 balls with 8 fours and 5 sixes from Wicket Keeper Naman Ojha.

Central are now having an overall lead of 237 runs with plenty of batting to come. Earlier, swing bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar and off-spinner Jalaj Saxena took three wickets each to help Central Zone to a crucial lead of 110 runs. It was a disastrous batting show for South Zone and they could only get to some sort of respectability because of Stuart Binny (56 from 68 balls with 7 fours and a six) and Amit Verma (42).
