England won their 3-match ODI Series 2-1 after thrashing New Zealand by 5 wickets in the Final game at the Eden Park in Auckland on Saturday. It was a pale show from the Kiwis in the Series deciders as they were bowled out for just 185 in 43.5 overs after being asked to bat first by England.

Steven Finn made early inroads to reduce the Kiwis to 11 for 3 from which the hosts could never recover. Skipper Brendon McCullum played a great counter attacking knock of 79 from just 68 balls with 6 fours and 5 sixes which helped the Kiwis to some sort of respectability. Finn took 3 for 27 while Broad and Swann chipped in with two wickets each.

England in their run chase lost as many as five wickets but wrapped it up in 37.3 overs. None of the English batsmen could score a fifty, the top scorer for the visitors being Skipper Alastair Cook with 46 (from 67 balls with 5 fours). For the Kiwis, Tim Southee took 3 for 48 in his 10 overs.
