Exciting young fast bowler James Pattinson has been ruled out of tomorrow’s third and decisive final of the CB Series at the Adelaide Oval. The 21-year-old tall pacer who just made a comeback into the Australian team after a foot injury has now been ruled out with a buttock injury. Pattinson had played only three games in the CB Series having made a comeback from his foot injury that had ruled him out after 2nd Test against India in early January.
It is learnt that James Pattinson had pulled off a glute injury in his buttock while diving in the outfield during the Second Final yesterday at the Adelaide Oval. Pattinson had a poor day in the second final going for 47 runs in 8 wicketless overs.
Pattinson is likely to be replaced with off-spinner Nathan Lyon or Ben Hilfenhaus. Australia now has four of its players injured including Pattinson. The others include Brett Lee who is recovering from a broken toe but still playing, David Warner with a sore groin and Skipper Michael Clarke who has been ruled out for atleast four weeks with a hamstring injury.
