Full Scorecard

Royal Challengers Bangalore thrashed Delhi Daredevils comprehensively by 10 wickets at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi. Delhi’s batters were no way near there’s best and Bangalore’s bowlers were on top against them in what turned out to be a one sided affair.

Royal Challengers Bangalore’s skipper Virat Kohli’s decision to won the toss and elected to bowl first were well backed by their new ball bowlers. Mitchell Starc was too good for the 19-years old, Shreyas Iyer and he picked him in the very first over of the inning.

Mayank Agarwal and JP Duminy started playing cautiously then and successfully negotiated the next two overs of Starc. They struck few boundaries in between too. David Wiese found the inside edge of Duminy’s bat and snared him caught behind the stumps by Dinesh Karthik. Delhi Daredevil’s inning never returned on track after skipper’s dismissal.

Varun Aaron then struck twice in the same over to get off dangerous Yuvraj Singh(2) and in-form Angelo Mathews(0) . With all there’s big gun went in hut, Delhi were left helpless. They lost Duminy, Yuvraj and Mathews in just a span of eight deliveries.

Kedar Jadhav(33) did provided some resistance to the home end but it was not enough for the home team as they ended their inning on just 95 runs.

Mitchell Starc with his three wickets again proved that why Virat Kohli was continuously expressing his disappointment over the unavailability of him. But biggest surprise of the day was the way Varun Aaron was bowling today. He got his chance today due to some injury of Chahal. Aaron was bowling with some pace and pitching it at about good length which made the batsman’s life difficult and he was rewarded with the wicket of Yuvraj and Mathews on consecutive deliveries.

Chasing a moderate total of only 96 runs, Chris Gayle went after the bowling from the start and never missed any scoring opportunity. He smashed six fours and four sixes. Virat Kohli too supported him well with constructed inning of 35 runs which included six boundaries.

Delhi’s bowlers never looked to cause any sorts of problem to the Gayle-Kohli pair.

Royal Challengers Bangalore have now defeated Delhi Daredevils in eight consecutive matches now. RCB won their third game of this season now and took the fourth spot in the points table. DD is placed at the fifth spot.
