Hashim Amla and AB de Villiers cracked centuries as South Africa cruised to an 8-wicket win with as many as 66 balls to spare in the Second ODI at Potchefstroom. This was despite South Africa chasing a competitive target of 269. While Amla scored his 110 from 103 balls with 12 fours, AB de Villiers smashed his 101* from just the 72 balls with the help of 5 fours and 5 sixes to finish the match in 39 overs.
Zimbabwe who had won the toss and elected to bat first were bowled out for 268 in 48.2 overs. Wicket Keeper Tatenda Taibu top scored with 78 from 90 balls with 4 fours and a six. Fast bowler Juan Theron captured a maiden five-wicket haul for the Proteas. He finished the Zimbabwean innings with 5 for 44 in 8.2 overs.
