England will travel to Sri Lanka to play their quarter-final of the World Cup 2011. The game will be played at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo and will see the team batting first have a huge advantage over the other.
Series: World Cup 2011
Schedule: Mar 26 (09:00 GMT, 2:30 PM IST, 14:30 Local time)
However, as the Australia-Pakistan game showed, if the team bowling first can put up a good show, then the there is a good chance that the team batting second will also remain in the game. England will look to bat first, put up a decent total and then unleash the spinning duo of Graeme Swann and James Trewell.
Sri Lanka may go one better. Knowing that the English side does not play spin too well, they may look to get in three spinners and make life difficult for the opposition.
The batting will be the key for both sides, what with the English top-order and the Sri Lankan middle-order not performing too well in the tournament so far. Lanka will be favourites but don’t discount out the English either.
