The much-awaited CPLT20 tournament in the Caribbean is to kick start on August 31 and after about a month, on September 30, it will be understood which team is the best among Barbados Royals, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Jamaica Tallawahs, St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, Saint Lucia Kings and Trinbago Knight Riders.
Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) Director of Cricket Mike Hesson has confirmed captain Virat Kohli will open the batting for the franchise in IPL 2021. Kohli had opened the batting in the fifth T20I against England and had smashed 80 from 52. After the game, he revealed that he would open the innings in the IPL as well.
Rahul Tewatia, Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan have earned their maiden international call-ups. The trio is part of the Indian squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against England. Kishan’s selection came on the day he hammered 173 off 94 balls, with 11 sixes, for Jharkhand against Madhya Pradesh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
We are now flying down the road towards the T20 World Cup at the end of the year with all the international teams stepping up their preparations for the showpiece down under. Before you know it, the first ball will be bowled in October, probably by a spinner after the sounds of intense electronic music has just died down, and the tournament will be underway.
In IPL 2020 two teams will be a mix of four franchises each -- Kings XI Punjab, Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders (north and east India), and Chennai Super Kings, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians (South and West India).
